My Octet recently played at Barbes, in Park Slope, Brooklyn. This piece, Dirge, features Dave Adewumi on Trumpet.

I recently taught a class about contrast in music composition. I propose that approaching contrast with an analytical mindset may help you beat writer’s block.

In 2017, I played at the Jazz Gallery in New York City with the Indiana University Plummer Jazz Sextet featuring guest artist Marquis Hill. This is his arrangement of the classic jazz standard “Minority.”

I recorded this composition, Hunting Song, in a duet with Evan Main in 2018 at the Indiana University Joshi Recording Studio.

I was honored to join Brandon Choi on his Masters recital at the Manhattan School of Music in May of 2023.

Shortly before moving back to New York in 2021, I recorded this trio concert with two of my fellow Wisconsin-natives (and favorite musicians), Lenard Simpson, and John Christensen.

In 2017 I played at the Next Gen Jazz Festival in Monterey, CA, with the IU Plummer Ensemble. This is our performance of my composition, Acorn

in 2017 I recorded an education video for the legendary drum company, Vic Firth. In the video I discuss how to use limitations to expand your coordination on the drums.
